About Rosewood Learning Press

Rosewood Learning Press makes fun, colorful activity books that help kids ages 8 to 12 explore their world, one state at a time.

Our State Explorer Series takes children on an adventure through a state’s geography, history, culture, landmarks, wildlife and famous people. Instead of just reading facts, kids solve crosswords and word searches, crack secret codes, take quizzes, color and draw. Learning feels like play, and it fits what many students study in elementary social studies.

Why parents and teachers choose them

  • Made for ages 8 to 12 (grades 3 to 5), with over 30 activities in every book: crosswords, word searches, secret codes, quizzes, maps and coloring pages.
  • Screen-free learning in a full-color 8.5 by 11 inch paperback.
  • An answer key in the back, so kids can check their own work.
  • Fits what many students study in elementary social studies.
  • Parents and teachers may photocopy the activity pages for their own children or students in one home or classroom.
  • No sign-ups, no accounts and no personalized ads on this website.

Meet Scout the Fox

Scout is our explorer fox and the guide in every book. He wears a pith helmet, carries a blue bedroll and a satchel, and pops up with tips and fun questions along the way. He explores every state, so kids will see him again and again.

Our books

See every book in the series on the Our Books page. Each new state is added there as soon as it is published.

How we make our books

Every fact is checked against official sources, such as state governments, state archives and the National Park Service. Photos come from public domain and openly licensed collections, and they are credited at the back of each book. Maps, puzzles and illustrations are created for the books.

Who we are

Rosewood Learning Press is a small independent publisher of children’s activity books. We make each book with care, so that kids enjoy learning and the grown-ups who buy them can trust what is inside.
