You can learn a lot about one state in a single week with about 30 minutes a day. Here is a plan you can adjust for any state and any age.
- Monday: Where is it? Find the state on a US map. Name its neighbors. Color a simple outline map.
- Tuesday: Symbols. Find the state flag, bird and flower. Draw or color each one and write one fact beside it.
- Wednesday: Story. Read about the people who lived there first and how the state began. Make a simple timeline with five dates.
- Thursday: Places. Pick one landmark. Find it on the map, look at photos, and draw it.
- Friday: Show what you know. Take a short quiz, then let your child teach the family three facts.
Keep a notebook for the week. Photos, drawings and one-line facts make a keepsake and show what was covered. Our free printables and State Explorer books can fit into any day.
